The book Borders in the "efka" series publishes discussions aimed at a wider audience. The two overview chapters are the theoretical supporting texts of the book. Behind them are three ethnographic chapters, each with a different focus. In the chapter " Sources of Border Studies in Anthropology and Ethnology," T Bajuk Senčar introduces the origins, central currents, and foundational works of border anthropology. M Kozorog, in the chapter "Border Ecology", introduces the frontier as a man-made structure with implications for superhuman ecologies. In the ethnographic chapters, K Munda Hirnoek and I Slavec Gradišnik first introduce the changing Slovenian-Hungarian border and the memories of border inhabitants of different times of the border. T Bajuk Senčar analyzes the role of European Union in the creation of cross-border integration projects, the influence of European integration processes and the experiences of local actors with the projects. M Kozorog is dedicated to farmers who see the border as one of the historical sources of agricultural problems in the border region, where the border allegedly increases the number of game that ravages their fields today. In the conclusion, T Bajuk Senčar and M Kozorog present the importance of border anthropology for broader and future anthropological and ethnological thinking.
