This paper addresses an important theoretical question, namely the definition of collocation for the purpose of its use in machine-readable language resources, which will be used in the creation of electronic dictionaries and language applications for Slovene. Based on theoretical and lexicographically-driven studies collocation is denoted as a lexical phenomenon, which is defined by three key aspects: statistical, syntactic, and semantic. Lexicographic relevance is taken as a point of departure for defining collocations within the typology of word combinations, as well as for distinguishing them from free combinations. Considering its topicality and state-of-the-art approaches in modern lexicography, the paper is an important contribution both for Slovene and international lexicographic and linguistic research communities.

The paper is a product of international cooperation and presents localisation of an established tool GDEX for Slovene, Estonian, Portuguese and Dutch. GDEX is tool for identification of candidates for good dictionary examples, and an important part of it are settings related to the typicality of collocations in examples. The paper presents both the setting parameters common to different languages, and parameters specific to an individual language or even a language resource. The paper is an important contribution to international lexicography, as its detailed depiction of the preparation of GDEX heuristics and the advantages and shortcomings of individual settings enables (and has already facilitated) the development of configurations to other languages.

The paper, published in the proceedings of one of the most important lexicographic conferences, presents the compilation of the Collocations Dictionary of Modern Slovene. Methodology is presented in detail, from automatic extraction of collocation extraction from the corpus, to its postprocessing and lexicographic analysis. Furthermore, we discuss the introduction of crowdsourcing into the lexicographic workflow. The paper also focuses the development and presentation of the interface, which represents a hybrid between a more corpus-based presentation of collocations (e.g. in tools such as Word Sketch) and a traditional sense-driven presentation of collocations as found in existing collocations dictionaries.

The paper is a product of an international cooperation of several authors, who from different perspectives present different methods for analysing specialised discourse and lexis related to COVID-19 pandemic. The Slovene contribution deals with methods of monitoring and detecting new words, meanings or changes in languages use, where collocations play an important role. When presenting the methodology, we used our project experience and findings related to monitoring temporal trends of collocations. The paper is highly topical and applies lingustic methods to the current challenging situation faced by the society.

The paper presents a qualitative analysis of a user evaluation of the interface of the Collocations Dictionary of Modern Slovene (CDS). It discusses an alternative perspective—the user's point of view—on problematic aspects of individual dictionary features, which require further lexicographic analysis and discussion. The collocations user study presents a model of the process of user evaluation; its findings are significant primarily for determining problems encountered by users. They also serve as a useful basis for methodology improvements in future, comparable lexicographic user studies and analyses.
