The report deals with loading test of the first phase of newly constructed railway underpass. Vertical displacements of the structure resulting from static and dynamic loading of two locomotives (which simulated the load of train compositions) were measured. Measured response of the structure was compared with the results of the mathematical model in which the geometric, mechanical and foundation characteristics of the structure were taken into account.

COBISS.SI-ID: 22195734A research aiming to develop an innovative railway sleeper is being conducted in the framework of solving the problems of durability of railway tracks in Slovenia. On the railway inrastructure, especially in the karst terrain, we face the phenomenon of so called floating sleepers, resulting in severe degradation of upper structure of railway track. Due to this phenomenon lifespan of concrete sleepers is significantly reduced and maintenance costs are increased. The research is being carried out at UM FGPA and ZAG Slovenia. Firstly, field measurements are described within which reasons for floating sleeper phenomena are analysed. Secondly, visual monitoring of degradation in degraded locations is presented. A mathematical model connecting results obtained by Micro-Deval test and expert estimation of degree of degradation is developed. A simplified mathematical model for loading and dynamic response is also presented. The results show that dynamic factor for short therm impact load is significantly increased at higher ratios between the length of impact load and periods of railway track upper structure. Finnaly, the developement of detailed modeling using finite element method with ABAQUS software is shown.
