In September 2019, Vasja Vehovar, PhD, and the Internet Research team organized an interactive workshop on mixed-mode surveys. The aim of the workshop was to discuss and share experiences with web and mixed-mode surveys between participants from CSI, Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia and National Institute of Public Health. The keynote address "Transition to online surveys: opportunities and challenges" was given by Prof. Mick Couper from the University of Michigan (USA). He presented the latest trends, experiences, insights and risks in the use of mixed-mode surveys. This is an important professional workshop that brings together stakeholders from private and public sectors and connects academia with industry. In this context, the research group provides a forum for the exchange of knowledge and practice between researchers and survey professionals with the aim of improving the quality of survey research at a time when web surveys are replacing other survey modes.

Vasja Vehovar, PhD, and his team have been developing the OneClickSurvey (1KA) software, a web survey tool for online data collection. The platform serves as a tool for conducting own research experiments and is also freely available to external users. It has nearly 100,000 registered users, and over 3 million completed questionnaires are collected annually. It also offers specialised modules for general data entry, telephone and face-to-face surveys. The tool includes pilot technical solutions for the customised display of questionnaires on mobile devices and supports the collection of a variety of paradata that can be used to monitor the quality of the question response process at the individual respondent level. Since January 2017, the 1KA mobile web survey app has been available on Google Play, where registered users can install it on their Android mobile devices. Since July 2020, 1KA has also offered subscription plans. The basic functionalities of 1KA are still free, only the advanced functionalities are chargeable. Free usage is also available to all users with an ArnesAAI account.
