The purpose of the project was to set up a link between the chemistry teachers at all levels of education for better motivation and exchange of ideas. A model of a seminar was designed based on the proposals of the users, and it was tested in a number of seminars.

COBISS.SI-ID: 28798213In cooperation with Ormož community a pilot project of landfil rehabilitation was carried out with the implementation of a new and inovative solution taking into account the principles of sustainable development. Close by the landfill site of an area of 4000 m2 a wetland has been constructed and connected to fandfil by underground pipes. Recycling of water through constructed wetland and landfil enables a permanent washing out of landfil body and subsequent cleaning of leachate in constructed wetland.

COBISS.SI-ID: 22483417In the framework of PhD thesis "Characterization and stability of painted layers of art objects" of Polona Ropret a renovation-conservation procedure has been elaborated for restoration of St. Nicolaus cathedral ceiling. A procedure was developed for cleaning the paintings with saturated solutions of amonium carbonate or hydrogencarbonate, for absorption of waste products into a cellulose pulp and silicagel, and for stabilization afer retouching with methyl hydroxy cellulose ether. The developed procedure was successfully applied for restoration of 600 m2 of the cathedral ceiling.
F.17 Transfer of existing technologies, know-how, methods and procedures into practice
COBISS.SI-ID: 28455173In the colaboration with company Krka we developed a new protocol for selective oxidation of sulfide functional group into sulfoxide group using 30% aqueous H2O2 and MTO as the catalyst. The new protocol was applied for the synthesis of 4 compounds from the family of 2-sulfinyl-1H-benzimidazoles, which are used as drugs for acidobase regulation in human medicine. The synthetic protocol in in the faze of international patent protection, while the compouds are already produced in Krka.
