In the frame of the 5. FW project InkCor we investigated the corrosivity of iron gall inks and developed methods for stabilisation of documents containing such inks. Major achievements we published also in the scientific monograph »Iron gall inks« and developed a new technological procedure for material stabilisation using antioxidants (pat. appl. COBISS.SI-ID 26939909). In the book, its use is described and evaluated. Several chapters are co-authored by programme group members (COBISS.SI-ID: 28288773, 28289285, 28289797, 28290309, 28290565).

COBISS.SI-ID: 230700544The research oriented into degradation and ageing of cellulosic materials we published also in a monograph »Ageing and stabilisation of paper«. Eight chapters are co-authored by programme group members and describe the latest achievements in the area of analytical characterisation of paper, thermooxidative degradation of paper and stabilisation strategies (COBISS.SI-ID: 26642693, 26642949, 26643205, 26643461, 26643717, 26643973, 26650373, 26650885).

COBISS.SI-ID: 219327232Section for Analytical Chemistry of Slovenian Chemical Society and Austrian Society for Analytical Chemistry organized 12th International Symposium on Separation Sciences. Syposium took place in Lipica, Slovenia and was attended by 192 participants and in the form of lectures and posters 153 scientific contribution were presented. Among them 22 peer rewiewed papers from symposium have been published in the special issue of Acta Chimica Slovenica (COBISS.SI-ID 28517893).

COBISS.SI-ID: 228508416It is well known that pH of the macromolecular environment is one of the most important parameters defining paper lifetime. However, most of the pH determination procedures in use today are not suitable, including miniaturised pH glass electrode, especially due to its mechanical fragility. We developed a new, robust electrode made of glassy carbon modified with a thin layer of polyaniline. The electrode was tested on a varitey of real papers and good agreement of the results was achieved with those obtained using standard destructive procedures.

COBISS.SI-ID: 3342874The overview of the several years of research on determination of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in the air was presented in the invited lecture. Since we are dealing with non-target analysis, we are facing two main problems, that is, accurate identification and quantification of individual VOCs. Several problems and solutions connected with different analytical techniques were presented for the determination of anthropogenic and biogenic VOC and their oxidation products.
