M. Kočevar was a member of the editorial board, responsible for the science and technology as well as the author of certain entries on organic chemistry. This work represents the first Slovenian authentic lexicon of this type; “Slovenocentricity” was stressed the most, meaning that in comparison with other lexicons, especially Slovenian phrases and persons were included. All other lexicons of this type available on the Slovenian market are merely translations of foreign lexicons (with some additions). It was published in three volumes (2003-05). In 2007 the lexicon appeared in 12 volumes.

COBISS.SI-ID: 27538181In collaboration with the group at UCLA we developed a new fluorescent molecular probe FDDNP and its radiolabeled derivative [18F]FDDNP for assessment of protein deposition in the brain of Alzheimer's disease patients. Our innovative approach to the diagnosis of the AD we protected by a patent, which was successfully marketed. The method was extended to labeling of other pathological protein aggregates in the brain found in patients with cerebral amyloid angiopathy and transmissible spongiform encelopathies.
