The importance of this article is in the developed guidelines and system that enable building of efficient e-learning systems in the multi-cultural environment. A novel approach was developed for measurement of the learnability of e-learning systems based on the cognitivity mechanisms. The approach provides better understanding of the cognitive mechanism underlying the observed effects during a learning process via e-systems and provides precise quantitative information about the tradeoffs of the usability method known as »task variants«. The study was carried out with the EducaNext portal.

The aim of the paper was to research the impact of business process change and IT deployment to organizational performance. The model that relates these concepts through organizational learning culture (OLC) is presented and tested on 203 Slovenian companies with more than 50 employees. The results show that OLC has a positive direct impact on all three modelled aspects of non-financial performance: from the employee, customer, and supplier perspectives. The effect of organizational learning culture on financial performance is still positive, but indirect, through non-financial performance.

The article proposes new solutions for security provisioning in active networks. An active network node is an intelligent network element capable of higher layer processing of network traffic. The original contribution includes the security architecture specification, report on security services implementation and functional and performance evaluation. The architecture provides key security services. We were the first to publish results on all security related protection costs.

This article is presenting new approach and models for analysis of the development of the broadband communications. The analysis is based on the survey of the level of development of broadband communications in 25 EU members presented by many statistical indicators. Factorial analysis was performed that indicated the major factors that may be used in defining the broadband penetration. Later the outcome of the factorial analysis was used for strategic framework model that enables the stakeholders to act and take decisions that foster the broadband communication adoption.

This article introduces for a first time a quantitative model for assessment of the threats in particular organizations regarding possible security breaches and other security incidents. The model uses as input parameters the assessment of the organization assets where different aspects are considered, from data, information and equipment to brand names and lost of trust on the marketed. The model is later used to calculate the optimal expenditures and investment in security solutions provision. The procedure proposed and the developed model are candidates for standardisation.
