The subject of the work are rapidly solidified ribbons, melt spun of different Cu-Al-Ni-alloys. The influences of casting parameters, chemical composition and heat treatments on microstructures and functional properties of the ribbons were investigated.

It was found out that in alloys Al-Mn-Be microstructures of melt-spun ribbons consisted of finely dispersed quasicrystalline particles (500 nm diameter) in Al-rich matrix, and that the hardness of such microstructure attained as high value as 300 HV.

In the article the unique approach for determination of material properties and their modeling in cold forming processes is described. This approach is called genetic programming and is based on imitation of evolution in biological systems.

This paper discus the problematic of in-situ monitoring of internal oxidation of metallic materials which is one of the leading heat treatments for preparation of dispersion strengthened materials. The results of in-situ measurements of electrical resistance changes during internal oxidation of Ag-Sn (2 at.% Sn) alloy at different temperatures and in the air atmospher are showen.
