Our open source framework for data mining Orange (www.ailab.si/orange), has become one of the most comprehensive open source applications in Phyton. Orange is increasingly popular worldwide. There were 10.000 new copies of Orange installed in 2008. It is used in industry (e.g., Trimo, Lek) to lower production costs and in medical institutions (e.g., Ljubljana University Clinics) to increase the quality of decision making in medicine and health protection.

Our group contributed to system VIDA - virtual intelligent tax adviser. We also included the Govorec system into the web portal of the Ministry of Public Administration, and participated in the international project We-Go - Increasing efficiency of e-government in Western Balkan countries (FP6-2005-IST-6), 2006-2008. Through these and several other projects we introduced new services in Slovenian information society, and thus helped Slovenia to advance in the quality of public information services from 17th to second place in Europe as reported in one EU public administration study.
