The establishment of an appropriate national transplantation organization resulted in an increase in transplantations and the acceptance of Slovenia into ET at the beginning of 2000. Up to 31 December 2004, the 1- and 3-year patient survival rates were 98.3% and 96.0%, respectively. In the ET era, the number of deceased donor renal transplants per year was 2.8 times higher than in the 14 years before. Results in the ET era have been entirely comparable to those in large reports.

COBISS.SI-ID: 24206809Slovenian Renal Replacement Therapy Registry group is composed of the heads of Slovenian dialysis and tranpslant centers led by J. Buturović-Ponikvar. She is in charge of Slovenian renal replacement registry. Individual data of Slovenian dialysis and transplant patients are collected since 2004 and analyses of this data are published annually in the reports. The reports are acknowledged by domestic and foreign medical communities. Through them the trends in morbitiy and mortality are followed and the quality of care assessedand the comparisons with other countries is made.
