Research studies correlation between some physical characteristics and general endurance: comparison 7 to 19 year old children in 1983, 1993 and 2003. It has been found that changes in physical and motor development in the last few years are happening also in 600 m run. Negative correlation is higher every decade and it very seriously threatens relative capability and body strength of children and youth.

The aim of the study was to find out what is the influence of prolonged continuous run at anaerobic threshold on muscular characteristics. Eight well trained athletes have been measured while doing 5 x 300m runs in sub maximal speed and one minute recovery phase in between.

The article is based on motor development of primary and secondary school boys and girls. 517 boys and 897 girls aged 11 to 17 have been measured with 26 motor tests. It has been found that there is the biggest improvement in motor development between the age of 13 and 15 for boys and between 11 and 13 for girls. The biggest differences are found at the age of 13.
