This work deals with the characterization of heat-cutted edge of the elements of high-strength steel S960Q. The results of high cycle fatigue on resonant pulsator at constant amplitude load and load ratio of 0.1 are given. Represented is the numerical model for simulation of the initiation of cracks, which is based on Tanaka-Mura model. The model is taken into account the surface roughness and the size of the heat affected zone, depending on the cutting parameters. Microstructural changes that occur by cutting are covered by simulating synthetic microstructure

COBISS.SI-ID: 12567318At invited lecture at international konference a multi scale numerical approach for evaluation of crack initiation and propagation of thermal cutted structural elements was presented. Some improvements, added to existing model, were presented. For verification of proposed model comparison with experimental results were shown.

COBISS.SI-ID: 13654038The paper investigates the effects of laser cutting on the fatigue properties of S960QL high strength steel. Two features of cut edge were taken into consideration. The cut edge profile, as surface grooves left by the cutting process act as stress concentrators, and the size and properties of heat affected zone, as crack growth parameters in this zone significantly differ from those in base material. Experimental data enabled us to formulate a short crack growth computational model while considering the effects of microstructure, cut edge profile and fatigue properties of heat affected zone.

COBISS.SI-ID: 12419606In the context of the invited lectures in the professional trade fair Welding and cutting, we present a professional public the results of our research. They have been presented the results of high-cycle fatigue test of specimens, which were prepared by the procedure of cutting with plasma and laser, cutting at different speeds. Results shown, connecting the cut edge quality, cutting parameters and the dynamic strength of the specimens have been particularly interested in representatives from the industry.

COBISS.SI-ID: 12305942In framework of bilateral cooperation we have dealt with solving problems related to the fatigue process of thermally cutted dinamic loaded structures. Planned experiments were performed on pulsating machine Amsler. In Slovenia steel specimens were tested and in Czhech Republic testing on aluminium alloys specimens were done. Our cooperation was extended on postgraduate study.
