Function for cumulative summation of variance within program package postRRM

For necessity of genetic evaluation by random regression models in pigs and small ruminants, the general program (function) cumSumVar was developed within free software and open source code - statistical package R. The function can be used for other species, as well. Function serves for calculation of cumulative variance, covariance, as well as variance ratios (ie. heritability) and cumulative correlations.

Comparison of methods for prediction of breeding values for longevity in dairy cattle and transfer of results into practice (F.17)

The study which covers comparison of different methods for genetic evaluation for longevity was presented at international meeting of INTERBULL. This organization provides international comparison of bull breeding values for different groups of traits in dairy cattle. The purpose of meeting which takes place each year is presentation of national and international development of genetic evaluation. Working catalogues of bulls for 2009 included predicted breeding values for longevity. Catalogues were prepared within the breeding program for cattle for approved breeding organizations.
