Based on a survey with a sample of 247 Slovenian small and medium enterprises, this article tries to confirm the hypotheses that small and medium internationalized companies are significantly bigger in size (in terms of sales and employees) but younger in age than those small and medium companies that are not internationalized.

The present study analyzes the differences in personal factors, or general human capital of Slovenian entrepreneurs from internationalized and from non-internationalized companies. The findings confirmed that formal education and gender was found a differentiating factor, while age, , ethnic minoroty and tenure did not significantly differ between the two analyzed groups of entrepreneurs.

It is a new, refreshing work in Slovenian language, icluding novelties of law, best practices, information of Slovenian environment and institutions supporting entrepreneurship and experiences, representing a study material for students of entrepreneurship as well as a reference book for experiences practitioners, managers and entrpereneurs.
