We showed that the combination of proton-nitrogen energy level crossing and the transfer of polarization from protons to nitrogen nuclei, which takes place during the level crossing, enhances the sensitivity of 14N NQR spectroscopy.

14N NQR frequencies and spin-lattice relaxation time were measured in 5-AT and 5-ATM between 77K and 300K. Assignment of the frequencies to atomic positions was made and the results are analysed in relation to the molecular chemical bonds and possible H-bonds.

Cladribine was studed experimantaly by 35Cl NQR and 14 N NMR-NQR double resonance and theoratically by the DFT. The effects of tautomeris, regioisomerism, conformations and molecular aggregations were found and related to intermolecular H-bond formation and the quadrupole parameters.
