In Electrical Discharge Machining, as one of often used machining proceses for prototyping, appropriate average current in the gap has to be selected for the given machining surface to obtain the highest material removal rate at low electrode wear. Thus, rough machining parameters have to be selected according to the machining surface. In this paper, inductive machine learning is used to derive a model for selection of process parameters.

While modern history is full of indispensable innovations that are like all technology for non-experts at first look close to being indistinguishable from magic (Arthur C. Clarke), it is worth pointing out that the path from invention to innovation is long and difficult. As a small teams working on radical innovations we present our view of the problem and we offer some possible guidelines and solutions. Solution for problems related to financing and entering the market are in the hands of the team, but public acceptance is in the hands of marketing.
