It was established in preliminary experiments that combination of electroporation and certain ruthenium compounds increases the cytotoxic activity. In our experiments two ruthenium compounds were used (isolated in the labs of Prof. B.K. Keppler)- one of them is already used in clinical trials. Results have been presented at a conference in Kranjska gora (5th Conference on Experimental and Translational Oncology).

COBISS.SI-ID: 24068825This invention describes the racemization of enantiomeric (S)-nicotine with the use of metal complex as catalyst. This can be achieved by catalytic amount of the catalyst or formation of the complex with subsequent hydrolysis. The invention deals also with isolation of pure racemic nicotine with the aid of chromatographic techniques.

COBISS.SI-ID: 34764549In 2009, one of the project partners (LBK, FE) organized and carried out the 4th biannual international scientific workshop and postgraduate course entitled "Electroporation-based technologies and treatments". The lecturers are the most eminent and established experts in electroporation from both the EU and the USA and others, with the audience comprising students from Slovenia and over 25 other countries, as the postgraduate course is a part of the credit system of the EU doctoral studies programmes. Our Ph.D. student R. Hudej presented her results at the workshop.
