For the area of Slovenia a debris-flow (DF) susceptibility model at scale 1:250,000 was developed. In GIS we analysed factors, which influence DF occurrence. 672 developed models with various weight combinations of factors were tested on existing DF sites and the most suitable model was chosen. The purpose was to develop a simple and robust model that will define on a general scale the triggering and the transport areas of debris-flow and is meant to serve as a general warning information basis for the whole Slovenia.
For the period from 1996-2006 data on precipitation at different temporal intervals (30 min, 1 h, 2 h, 3 h, 6 h, 12 h, 24 h) for the weather station Rateče were analysed and a) rainfall intensity index, b) number of rainy days, and c) monthly rainfall erosion index were calculated. Daily rainfall above 40mm is most frequent in the fall and there's more than 10 such days annually. Monthly rainfall erosion index is the highest in August, while it is relatively low for winter and spring period.
