Dr. Aleš Završnik is a member of the Management Committee of COST Action IS0807 “Living in Surveillance Societies (LiSS)” for the Republic of Slovenia. He contributed to the formation of the interdisciplinary international network of academic surveillance experts. The Action increases and deepens knowledge about living and working in surveillance societies, helps to better understand the consequences of technologically enhanced surveillance for social questions, such as equity, cohesion and trust, and makes recommendations about its future governance and practice.

We are witnessing a shift towards an increased criminalization of our lives. The paper shows the extending criminalization of the preparatory phases of potential cybercrimes that directly jeopardize the fundamental principles of modern criminal law.

From 2009, she is also visiting professor at Birkbeck College Department of Law, University of London. Professor Salecl has also been recurring visiting professor at Cardozo School of Law in New York where each year she delivers a condensed 7 week long course Psychoanalysis and Law. From 2011, she will also teach there a new course Neuroscience and Law.
