It is a collection of scientific papers elaborated in the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the University of Ljubljana and of the School of Theology. The monograph could be understood as an intermediate report of the project group, because three authors were part the of project. A part the monograph includes an overview of the theological thought in the beginning of the new century.

The starting point of the paper were the scientific works of some theologians from Ljubljana and Maribor whose thought was dedicated to the (un)activity of the laity in the Church, comparing the situation in Europe with that in Slovenia, searching also new possibilites for a more significant integration of the laity in the Church.

COBISS.SI-ID: 4883546Matjaž Ambrožič is the head of the Institute of Church History at the School of Theology in Ljubljana, since 2009 he has also been the editor of the publication Acta Ecclesiastica Sloveniae. He edited last volume dedicated to the higher theological education in Slovenia. The theological schools under the auspices of the Ljubljana Diocese since 1589 up to today are also presented in the volume.

COBISS.SI-ID: 252955904The paper comprises an analysis of the latin handwritten texts used in the Monastery of Brežice which for many years hosted the provincial "studium morale." After the suppression of the Monastery the manuscripts ended in the library of the Monastery Sveta Trojica v Slovenskih Goricah. Of particual interest are the so called reserved cases, which varied from Diocese to Diocese where the Minor Brethren used to work.

COBISS.SI-ID: 39395682The paper gives on overview of the Salesian community which settled in 1901 in Slovenia, and the contribution of its leaders from Italy in order to take over some original activities in the new milieu. In the first period of their presence in Slovenia they tried to set up their own educational system which was a copy ot the Italian one, but its final result was a Higher Schoolf of Theology which worked in Ljubljana-Rakovnik between 1929 and 1945.
