TOMAŽEVIČ, Miha. Eurocode 6 : design of masonry structures and special rules for earthquake resistant masonry buildings

In the 60 pages long manual for the use of European standards for the design of masonry structures, the basic principles and requirements of Eurocode 6 and masonry part of Eurocode 8 are explained. On the basis of the recent experimental and analytical research, inconsistencies of some requirements are discussed and improvements are proposed to avoid the non-realistic estimation of the seismic resistance of masonry buildings. A numerical example of a seismic resistance verification of a multistorey masonry building ia also provided.
