TOMAŽEVIČ, Miha. Heritage masonry buildings and reduction of seismic risk : the case of Slovenia.

In the European standard for structural assessment and retrofit of buildings, procedures are recommended and values of parameters needed in redesign are specified. However, the standard includes inconsistences and unnacceptable requirements regarding the architectural heritage buildings. On the basis of experimental and analytical research, additional recommendations have been proposed to relax the code requirements.

In the book, the earthquakes and seismic behaviour of masonry buildings are discussed. Seismic assessment and retrofit of existing masonry structures, including cultural heritage buildings, is also discussed.
