Drinking water from mountain spring: a future illusion?

Demands for high quality of drinking water are increasing year on year, both in Europe and in the world. Although this problem is not distinctive in Slovenia, it is important to save water resources and to secure watershed areas clean. The importance of water management in mountain regions is described in the paper with respect to climate change and global warming. We introduced the case study of Krvavec ski resort where several water intakes are situated around the mountain. We stressed the role of land use change that can affect the quality of the water resources indirectly.
