Water wax emulsions were used to improve fungicidal properties and sorption properties of wood. In this testing, there were various wax emulsions used (montan wax, carnauba wax, polyethylene wax, oxidized polyethylene wax…) for impregnation of wood. The results showed, that waxes improves sorption properties of wood, and on the other hand improves resistance against wood decay fungi. The most effective was polyethylene wax emulsion. Results were presented in one of the most prominent conference – European Conference on Wood modification.
