The basic characteristic of monograph is that the discussion of human rights is carried out on two levels. The approach is, on one hand, chronological. The most important philosophical concepts are analyzed, which is important for the rising of culture of human rights. On the other hand, each philosophical concept is placed on the horizon of history of the being, by which the discussion gets the firmness of the meaning and clear ontological base. For this reason every contribution of the particular author is linked with the picture of the man and world of his time.

The paper focuses on Unger's pragmatist vision of democratic experimentalism and its possible application to the area of contemporary intercultural philosophy. The paper connects the field of American pragmatism’s political and social thought with the contemporary pressing issues of intercultural philosophy. Unger’s philosophy is put into a dialogue with the philosophy of L. Irigaray, thus opening a new platform for the ethico-political vision of democracy in the era of globalization.
