Rare earth elements (REEs) are good geochemical indicators of overexploitation in the Sob-1 well in Murska Sobota. The abstracted water originates from several sedimentary aquifers which waters differ in the abundance of REEs. By overexploitation of the higher-yield aquifer Termal I, the shear of other waters increased and consequently, the amount of REEs. The trend is seasonal and long-termed, on a decade scale.

Geothermal well in Benedikt penetrated for the first time in Slovenia and in the broader region of the Styrian and Zala basins metamorphic aquifers in pre-Tertiary basement with a high yield (~100 L/s) and high temperature of thermal water ()80 oC) which belongs to the sodium-bicarbonate hydrogeochemical facies. The present hydrothermal system characterised by horizontal circulation is superimposed to an older, already inactive system with vertical circulation which is today limited to the penetration of carbon dioxide from the depths towards the surface.

New method for quantitative evaluation of chaotic behavior, exhibited by natural rivers has been developed. The method is based on the generation of three-class sequence, representing the river pathway. Obtained sequence is the input for the generation of the Sierpinski triangle. The results show that randomness exhibited by rivers is strongly connected to the average gradient of the river. Best model to describe the topology of the channel is superposition of sinus waves with the alteration of wavelength and amplitude. Noise is not likely to have mayor impact to the river pathway.

Two basic views of terra rossa formation were distinguished, related to either a residual or a detrital origin. More recently it has been suggested that it could derive from isovolumetric reactions between the parent carbonate rock and airborne material. The results have shown that only cutters can collect enough insoluble residue to become detectable after a period of existence within a steady state lowering surface, must be either mixtures of materials of diverse origins, or possibly completely allogenic.
