Prof. Boris Turk received in 2011 Zois award for outstanding achievements in science, which is the highest scientific award in Slovenia. Prof. Vito Turk was elected for regular member of SAZU, which is a major recognition for his research work as well as for the research work of our research group

Prof Boris Turk is Secretary General of European Cell Death Organization . He was also International Proteolysis Society Secretary (2009-2011) and President (2011-2103). B. Turk was involved in organization of over 35 international meetings, either as main organizer or member of scientific or organizing committee,including a series of biannual meetings on Proteases, Inhibitors and Biological Control, where he was the main organizer (7 since 2000). LastMeeting in this series, already XIVth, was held in Portorož in September 2014. In addition, he and other team members were invited speakers at numerous meetings and foreign universities, including 3 times at Gordon Research Conferences; at 2014 GRC on proteolytic enzymes in May B. Turk was also discussion leader in one of the sections.
