COBISS.SI-ID: 3087631Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has a great potential for the investigation of matrix tablets. MRI was used to study gel layer formation during swelling of xanthan tablets in different media and correlate these results with drug release studies. By combination of MRI, NMR and T2 mapping we explained unusual formation of ''bright front'' on MR images at pH 1.2. These were the consequence of differently hydrated domains, formed due to xanthan conformational changes during swelling. Drug release was faster at low pH due to presence of large fraction of free water and thinner gel layer.

COBISS.SI-ID: 2695025Doctoral thesis brings contributions on the following areas: A comparative analysis of the uptake of new oncology drugs in Slovenia and selected European countries was preformed. Clinical and economic outcomes evaluation of new technologies that have recently emerged in cancer therapy, specifically HPV vaccination to prevent cervical cancer and UGT1A1 genotyping to prevent severe neutropenia occurence during colorectal cancer therapy with irinotecan, was carried out. The issue how the general population in Slovenia values survival prolongation was explored.

COBISS.SI-ID: 3105794The invention describes a modified release pharmaceutical composition in a form of a floating capsule. The key of the invention is in the combination of coatings on the body and cap, and in the composition of the granulate and the tablet providing floating of the capsule in gastric fluid for a predetermined period of time and controlled release of the active substance from the granulate and tablet in the capsule. The floating capsule is a relatively simple drug delivery system which can be prepared by conventional technological procedures and using conventional technological equipment.
