COBISS.SI-ID: 3307377The subject of the invention is a process device for coating particles that falls within the field of chemical and pharmaceutical technology. It represents an improvement on the process equipment for coating particles by spraying from the bottom and works on the principle of fluidization technology. The process device for coating particles, according to the invention which has within the wall (1), one or more units placed, for which each unit consists of a swirl flow generator (4) with a perforated plate (3) and a draft tube (5) where centrally through the swirl flow generator (4) a single or multi-phase spraying nozzle (6) with a coating dispersion inflow (7) and inflow (8) of compressed air is installed, in which the swirl flow generator (4) has outward open and at an angle with regard to the vertical installed grooves.
F.14 Improvements to existing production methods and tools or processes
COBISS.SI-ID: 3406449Chitosan is a cationic polysaccharide mainly used as an absorption enhancer for various pharmaceuticals. The high density of positive charge on a chitosan molecule enables it to attach to the plasma membrane of different epithelial cells. Intravesical application of chitosan to urinary bladder recently revealed a destructive effect of this polysaccharide on superficial epithelial cells, possibly due to the very specific structure of the apical membrane in these cells. This discovery indicates new possibilities for treating chronic bacterial cystitis and the removal of superficial urothelial tumors. Due to the chemical similarity of chitosan to aminoglycan molecules of proteoglycans in extracellular matrix, this molecule is widely used as a scaffolding material in tissue engineering for the needs of reconstructive medicine. This chapter presents current understanding of the effects of chitosan on plasma membrane in the most common described applications of this biopolymer.
F.02 Acquisition of new scientific knowledge
COBISS.SI-ID: 30073305In the case of the uptake of vaccination program with pneumococcal conjugated vaccines into the Slovenian health system we investigated the process of setting priorities and the criteria for the evolution of these new health technologies. In the evaluation process the health economic data is also considered, one is the cost-effectiveness of health technology. We performed a study in which we compare different models for evaluation the cost-effectiveness of vaccination with pneumococcal conjugated vaccine. Through this study we identified the parameters that have the highest influence on the results of cost-effectiveness analysis. These parameters are: effectiveness for invasive pneumococcal disease, herd immunity, data of mortality due to invasive pneumococcal disease and the vaccination cost in cases when vaccination could not be performed simultaneously with other vaccines, which are currently already part of the national immunization program.
F.22 Improvement to existing health/diagnostic methods/procedures
COBISS.SI-ID: 3244657S. Srčič, Member of the Organisational Board, was involved in the preparation and leading of this Symposium, that is annualy organized in June. Symposium was focused on the validations in the lab and industrial scale of drugs production and was well accepted by the domestic pharmaceutical industry. Faculty of Pharmacy was actively involved in the organization of the Symposium together with the Slovenian Pharmaceutical Society.
