D.09 Tutoring for postgraduate students
Within international programme Alpine space there was a project SILMAS with the main topic on sustainable use of the lakes. Co-workers from the NIB prepared text and illustrations for brochure on the Lake Bohinj which will be on disposal of tourists and will contribute to awareness of lake protection. The brochure was produced with co-operation with Tourist Information Centre Bohinj. In the brochure are presented hydrological characteristics of the lake as well as some biological and tourist attractiveness. At the same time the product was a template for other similar brochures, which were prepared by partners from other countries for their alpine lakes.

In the textbook the key issues from the field of ecological science are given according to different levels of study, from organism to the ecosystem and ecosphere. The basic principles of environmental and nature conservation issues including sustainable development are given. The contribution is important in pedagogical as well as in the sense of broad science promotion.
D.10 Educational activities
COBISS.SI-ID: 252899072The project collaborators were invited by national television RTV Slovenija in preparation of several documentary programmes on invasive and harmful animals, decline of bee-families, vocalization among animals, animals migrations and drinking water protection. In addition they were also involved in preparation of programmes on bioluminiscence and bionics. Several of them were emitted within a series "Bite into science" and "Good hour with Andrej". The aim of the programme is to inform and educate public on interesting or problematic animals, which are around us and on their environment.
