An overview of the new release of the nuclear data library given with highlights of the major improvements compared with prvious releases and other recentlyreleased libraries. The main improvements are: extended scope of nuclides, covariance data, Rmatrix analysis of light nuclei, resonance parameters, modifications to thermal cross sections of fission products, improved minor actinide data, fission energy release evaluations, fission product yields and decay data sublibrary. Improved performance is noted particularly for Ti, Mn, Cr, Zr and W.

COBISS.SI-ID: 25363751Performing the startup zero power physics tests in the Nuclear Power Plant Krško After each outage in the Krško NPP it is necessary, in accordance with the requirements of the SNSA, to perform the testing of the reactor on zero power before the increase of its power. In doing so, the responses to the insertion of the reactor control assemblies, temperature changes and the concentration of boric acid in the coolant are compared with the previously calculated values. Since the first cycle in 1981 members of our group, as experts from the Jožef Stefan Institute, were performing the said tests. Each time the tests were performed successfully and thus the permission for the operation for the next cycle was granted.

COBISS.SI-ID: 22019623Independent evaluation of the report "NPP Krško Cycle 24 Reload Safety Evaluation" is presented in this document. USAR and Technical Specifications changes regarding rod cluster control assembly insertion limits, 80 IFBA rods pattern and rod bow DNBR penalty are suggested. In addition to this report, safety evaluation screening of the EPRCCA design changes has been reviewed as well. Safety evaluation findings and proposed changes have been found acceptable. With acceptable evaluation NPP Krško was able to proceed with the modification request at Slovenian Nuclear Safety Administration.

COBISS.SI-ID: 23563559Chairing of the program and organizing committee of the "International Conference Nuclear Energy for New Europe, Portorož, 2010", which was organized by members of the Reactor physics group and the Nuclear Society of Slovenia. The conference was held from 6 to 9 September 2010 in Portorož, and was attended by 160 experts and researchers from the nuclear field from Slovenian and abroad. Selected papers were, under our coeditorship, published in a special issue of the Nuclear Engineering and Design journal.
