In October 2011 we organized, what is considered to be the most prestigious scientific conference in the field of humanoid robotics, and the first ever such conference organized in Slovenia: 11th IEEE-RAS International Conference on Humanoid Robots (Humanoids 2011). The program group members were the main conference organizers (including general chair).

COBISS.SI-ID: 25226279The main result of PACO+ is the formalization of object-action complexes (OACs) as the basis for symbolic representations of sensorimotor experience and behaviours. The succesfull completion of this project enabled us to acquire two new projects from the FP7 EU pogram “Cognitive Systems and Robotics”, which both started in 2011: large-scale integrated project “Robots bootstrapped through learning from experience” (Xperience) and specific targeted research project “Intelligent observation and execution of actions and manipulations” (IntellAct).

COBISS.SI-ID: 25079335Recent findings suggest that besides renal tissue hypoxia, relative decrements in tissue oxygenation, using a transition of the breathing mixture from hyperoxic to normoxic, can also stimulate erythropoietin (EPO) production. To further clarify the importance of the relative change in tissue oxygenation on plasma EPO concentration [EPO], we investigated the effect of a consecutive hyperoxic and hypoxic breathing intervention. The tested protocol of consecutive hyperoxic-hypoxic gas mixture breathing did not induce [EPO] synthesis stimulation. Moreover, the transient attenuation in delta [EPO] in the IHH group was most likely due to a hyperoxic suppression. Hence, our findings provide further evidence against the ‘‘normobaric O2 paradox’’ theory.
