Industrial project "Optimization of production planning and scheduling of cooking plates" is being carried out for the ETA Cerkno d. o. o. as a continuation of the successful completion of the pilot model. The aim of this project is optimization of the production process and making an optimized production plan for the manufacture of cooking plates, so that the time from ordering to execution is as short as possible, while taking into account all the constraints. The final product will replace the expert, whose work is due to manual planning very time consuming.

COBISS.SI-ID: 24160295OPKP provides e-contents and e-services to support clinical nutrition and nutrition for people with special nutritional needs. It is built upon a set of modular software framework that enable e-learning and e-services tailored for citizens and physicians. Its feature is a connection with the EuroFIR (European Food Information Resource Network) Information Platform that provides a pan-European distributed food composition database. OPKP guarantees high security level required for e-health information systems. Its efficiency was validated in a survey conducted by the Pediatric Clinic Ljubljana.

COBISS.SI-ID: 24117287We participated in a development of a complex cooling appliance for Gorenje, d.d. A cooling appliance operates optimally when it is able to cool to the desired temperature at the lowest possible power consumption. We developed a simulator for simulating temperatures inside the appliance cabinets at different control parameters. By using simulations a considerable part of measurements was replaced, and as they are much time consuming due to the slow thermal processes, a lot of time was saved which in the end also minimized the development manufacture cost of the appliance.

COBISS.SI-ID: 23935527We developed a software tool for setting-up injection operational parameters of ceramic injection moulding machine. We used artificial neural networks to model the relationships among the operational parameters (time, pressure, and temperature), feedstock data (moisture, binders, viscosity), green parts data (density, geometry, hardness) and quality of ceramic products estimated with marks between 1 and 5. The software tool learns from data taken in a larger period directly from production line and proposes operational parameters for a particular feedstock and ceramic part to be produced.

COBISS.SI-ID: 23569703We co-organized the fourth international conference on bioinspired optimization methods and their applications. The international program committee chose 18 papers of 40 coauthors from nine countries. The conference was attended by 68 participants, including five from the industry. The conference provided a forum for presentation and discussion of the latest theoretical and applied results in bioinspired optimization methodology and its applications in science, engineering and business. The presented papers of each conference are gathered in the conference Proceedings.
