In many applications we must use special measures to ensure suitability of electromagnetic devices with the regulations in the field of electromagnetic compatibility. For this purpose the analysis of the effectiveness of the measures for reducing the scattered magnetic field in the vicinity of the universal motors was made. It was made for the household appliances manufacturer BSH Home Appliances Ltd., Nazarje. Analysis included two basic types of universal motors, which are the motor with a symmetrical magnetic circuit and the motor with the C shape magnetic circuit. When selecting the measures to reduce scattering fields, the spatial, technological, and cost limitations were considered. The effectiveness of the measures was verified by detailed 3D calculations of magnetic fields in the motor and its vicinity. The manufacturer of small household appliances will include the most appropriate action in the production process and thereby ensure the suitability of their products to the strictest regulations and with that the possibility to sell these products in the most demanding global markets will be provided.

COBISS.SI-ID: 17286934The program FIELD_GS_transient is designed to calculate and simulate transient conditions in vicinity of earthingsystems. It is possible to make complete analysis of the electromagnetic field in the ground where grounding mesh is located, as well as above the surface of the earth. Using the appropriate upgrade this allows us the evaluation of the impact of the electromagnetic fields on the environment in accordance with the Regulation on electromagnetic radiation in the natural and living environment at very rapid electric discharges in the ground. Ionization of the earth may also be considered in the calculation with the help of the dynamic model of ionization, which represents a more realistic capture of this phenomenon according to the classical model of ionization. The program enables the analysis of an arbitrary mesh, circular or polygonal grounding system in combination with vertical and horizontal rods. Multilayer model of the earth is used, which is generated by using the genetic algorithm and the measured data of the soil resistivity with Wenner’s method. In addition, it is possible to take into account the local inhomogeneities in the earth. The program is fully interactive and allows 3D visualization of all field quantities.
