In the paper a control strategy for controlling process of mineral wool production is presented. The model of process is built and validated on a real process data. The proposed control strategy based on PFC is compared to the PID control and the control strategy currently present on a real process plant. It is shown that the proposed control algorithm can better cope with the variable time delays than PID and the existing control strategy, resulting in less waste of mineral wool and better product quality.

The article describes the development of the EAF simulator, using the developed, parameterized and experimentally validated nonlinear EAF models. Also the implementation of the simulator in XAMControl is described.

Genotype and gene expression of drug-metabolizing enzymes is essential for efficient dosage of drugs with narrow therapeutic window and possible harmful effects at overdosing. In the present study we analysed influence of polymorphisms and expression of the following genes: CYP2B6, CYP2C9, CYP2C19, CYP2D6, CYP3A4 in CYP3A5. It has been showed that there is statistically significant correlation between enzyme activity and gene expression of the above mentioned genes in liver and for some also in leukocytes.
