The project presents a hardware and software structure of diagnostic system which was developed for on-line detection of shorted turns in rotor field winding of synchronous generator. The device analysis several signals from the flux probes mounted in an air-gap and evaluates the healthy state of the field winding.

COBISS.SI-ID: 7775572In thesis, topologies with adaptive filter capacitor voltage of a single-phase paralel active power filter are compared with classical solution. It has been proven, that switching loss with adaptive voltage is lower due to reduced voltage stress, thus justifying use of additional power transistors providing adaptive voltage. As well, a topology is proposed which enables efficient connection of low-voltage DC power sources (i.e. solar cells) to the supply grid through adaptive voltage of capacitor in active power filter.

COBISS.SI-ID: 7729492The field of doctoral thesis is the control of the Z-Source inverter (ZSI) for supplying an induction machine (IM). Due to its better efficiency, the Space vector modulation (SVM) is selected. Additionally two control method of the inverter voltage were introduced which differ in their operation. The conclusion is that the ZSI is a perfectly viable solution for the use with renewable energy sources, when supplying the voltage sensitive load. However, if operating independently for longer periods of time, the problem of the lower efficiency of the ZSI should be further addressed.

COBISS.SI-ID: 8131156The thesis deals with electronic commutated motor drive for vacuum cleaner, based on switched reluctance motor. Between various types of switched reluctance motors, the 6-2 non symmetrical motor was selected and explained as a best choice for application in the vacuum cleaner. The start-up torque is mathematically delivered from the inductance waveform of the motor windings and from current that flows through the windings. The final results confirm that selected type of switched reluctance motor and its power electronic module are suitable for vacuum cleaner application.
