In the papers frost resistance of clay products was studied. Clay roofing tiles were fired at different temperatures. Afterwards, direct and indirect test methods were used to evaluate their frost resistance. The direct method in standard EN 539-2 was applied, ASTM C 67 was used for indirect methods, and Maage factor was calculated from Hg-porosimetry curve. The comparison between indirect and direct methods of prediction and test of frost resistance has also shown good correlation. Specific mechanisms, which contribute to the freezing damage, were also studied.

COBISS.SI-ID: 1691239According to the procedure for the preparation of thermally stable aggregate based on water quenched and stabilized black steel slag, it shall be heat up from room temperature up to 1000 °C with a dwelling time at this temperature which allows that the uniform temperature trough out the material is reached. This way irreversible transformation of wustite into magnetite happens, and such aggregate remains stable after subsequent heating at T of up to at least 1000 °C, and can therefore be used in the refractory industry or for fire resistance concrete (for example for use in tunnels).

COBISS.SI-ID: 1667687Invention refers to the UV-indicator finctional printing ink on the basis of indicator dyes and photocatalyst, which can be used for indication the quantity of UV radiation. A functional printing ink based on the defined indicator dye was prepared, which records exposure to UV light through irreversible change of colour. Such a formulation of functional printing ink satisfies all basic demands of final application, i.e. screen printing of UV- or Sun-exposure indicators. Those indicators could be used as smart tags on the packaging or clothing.

COBISS.SI-ID: 1705575Different types of jacketing (e.g. concrete, steel or FRP) can be used to increase the strength and the ductility of seismic inappropriate viaduct columns. This strengthening technique is relatively well known. However, the practice, experimental and theoretical studies were, in the past, mostly related to columns with solid circular or rectangular cross-sections. The experiences in the strengthening techniques of hollow box columns, which are typical for the older bridges in the Central Europe, are still limited.

COBISS.SI-ID: 5112929Two severe landslides, Stože landslide and Slano blato, occurred in November 2000 in Slovenia. They attracted the attention of the entire country and opened new technical questions. Both landslides were initiated by a period of heavy rainfall. Paper describes both landslides and their particularities. Special laboratory equipment, large scale shear-box, has been constructed to test the landslide material. From the test results it was observed the landslides were of different type and behavior. Results from both landslide materials were quite different, especially in the shear properties.
