Technological processes of steam reforming and the production of methanol and formaldehyde were analyzed. The focus point was the production process of formaldehyde and methanol, with special attention being paid to the synthesis reactors in both processes. The production of formaldehyde with the oxidizing process, using the metal-oxide catalyst, was investigated, specifically. The mass balances were calculated, establishing the conversions of competing reactions, whereas the heat balances were calculated as well for both processes using process schemes and actual measurements.

COBISS.SI-ID: 34520837This study focused on the planning of the integrated process for the polymer coating of synthetic fertilizer grains and drying in fluidized bed according to the concept of product engineering. The aim of research was to get the product, 4 mm grains with 45 to 60 µm thick polyacrylic layer (membrane), and to find the optimum process conditions. After we finished experimental work during which we got key process parameters, the concentration of ions was determined, their fluxes through membrane, and the thickness of polymer layer deposit on nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium (NPK) grains.

COBISS.SI-ID: 34475269Polyurea microcapsules containing insecticide permethrine were prepared by interfacial polymerization that is by reaction between hexamethylene diisocianate uretdion and ethylene diamine. The aim of this study was to determine the optimal process parameters for the design of microcapsules with the optimal release behavior. The morphology of microcapsules was investigated with optical and scanning electron microscopy, whereas the average particle size and size distribution were determined using laser diffraction technique. The effectiveness of microencapsulated permethrine was tested on ants.
F.06 Development of a new product
COBISS.SI-ID: 34476549Agar gel is used as the base material for the active substance in rodenticides. The gel dries quickly, which is a drawback to the applicability of a rodenticide. To preserve moisture and thus the appropriate softness of the gel, four different humectants were added to the gel, and the drying of samples was monitored at different relative air humidity levels and at a constant temperature. A new series of samples followed, which was exposed to a higher temperature. After establishing the state of equilibrium, the sorption curves for individual samples were determined and diffusivity.
F.09 Development of a new technological process or technology
COBISS.SI-ID: 34467077The anaerobic digestion process in solid state was carried out in pilot system of three sequential batch reactors (V = 120 L). The organic waste and sewage sludge from wastewater treatment plant were used for execution of the process. The aim of this study was to optimize the process of anaerobic digestion in thermophilic operating conditions and at the solid content of the material in the range of 20 – 40 %. The main emphasis was also on analyzing feedstock and solid residue. Percolation method was used to provide moisture, nutrients and bacteria in fresh material.
