At the international scientific symposium "Update on Dermatopathology" invited speakers from Slovenia and abroad presented current issues in pathogenesis, histopathologic diagnosis applying modern techniques, as well as in clinical diagnosis and therapy of tumour and non-tumour inflammatory skin diseases. The symposium Proceedings will be used for undergraduate and postgraduate education on this field of medicine.

B.04 Guest lecture
An invited lecture at the 22nd European Congress of Pathology presented, in line with the original investigation and literature data, new proposal for classification of histopathologic changes in ASP into 6 categories. In addition to thrombosis of large and small vessels of category 1, thrombotic microangiopathy related histopathology of category 2, demonstrated not only in kidney but also in skin biopsies, are suggested to be included in the revision of the classification criteria for APS.

Gale was elected a member of the Executive Committee of the European Society of Pathology (ESP) (2005-2009), what is a major recognition for her fruitful work in the field of the head and neck pathology, as well as her active participation in the Working Group of the Head and Neck Pathology of the ESP. Her election is an important event for the Slovenian pathologists who have been internationally recognized for decade. In the Executive Committee, she has been especially active in the Committee for Education.
