Using the example of the gene expression profile of grapevine during the infection with a pathogenic fungus Eutypa lata, we improved and extended the MapMan ontology for its use in grapevine. The resulted paper was among ten highest accessed papers in BMC Plant Biology in 2009.

We investigated a leaf transcriptome of grapevine infected with phytoplasma "Bois noir". The results show that many genes involved in photosynthesis, biotic stress and sugar signaling are diffrentially expressed. Based on the results we designed a model of interaction between "Bois noir" and grapvine plant.

We developed an improved diagnostics for a bacterium Erwinia amylovora, which ia a causal agent of fireblight. A new method uses a quantitative real-time PCR detection of targets on the chromosomal DNA.

With the applied molecular approaches we determined a deficiency in screening protocol and presence of a single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) in GM maize TC1507. After our publication the discussion was open at the EU level how to harmonize screening analyses and how the observed deficiency will be systemically corrected.
