COBISS.SI-ID: 2644356We state that it is within the public space network that we mainly apply measures to improve the quality of life, health and security of the people. We introduce a new type of open space: privately-owned public spaces. They offer the possibility of an enrichment of public space. Key findings are urban-planning guidelines to regulate public spaces and private spaces open to the public shown in a graphic and descriptive manner. We present feasible urban-planning strategies and instruments that contribute to a better quality and quantitatively richer open space in the contemporary city.
