In cooperation with established German experts team members conducted empirical study, which employs a Vickrey Auction which incentivizes consumers to reveal their exact willingness to pay. The influence of CSR on consumers’ willingness to pay was found to be weaker than prior studies suggested. Moreover, the findings of the study reveal that the validity of the model can be extended to both subsample where CSR is well established (Germany) and subsample where CSR is still developing (Slovenia).

Sončni vrt company is entering the slovenian organic food market with locally grown vegetables (lettuce, peppers, and cucumbers) from the region of Prekmurje. Majority of these vegetables, consumed in Slovenia, are imported from other countries and traditionally produced. Members of the team conducted extensive market study, which covered nearly 1000 consumers through structural interviews. Study reveals significant possibilities of buying “green” alternative products. They are better quality, better testing and fresher.
