COBISS.SI-ID: 257519872The central topic of the proposed research project is the analysis of social stratification of contemporary slovene society. Within this general framework the focus was particularly on the role of cultural differentiation, including »digital divide« in the constitution of class differences. Generally, the research team analysed how the class differentiation is expressed through cultural consumption and cultural taste - particularly through media consumption and the use of new technologies - and in the field of political values and citizenship. More specific goals of the research project were to assess the relationship between cultural and economic aspects of class in specific Slovene circumstances , the formation of national social indicators of class structure and proposing policy measures that would support social cohesiveness as an aspect of quality of life in slovene society.

COBISS.SI-ID: 30499933The course focuses on how multilevel models can be used for comparative research. It explores the logic of basic random intercept and random slopes models and their application. It also focuses on more advanced tools, such as cross-classified models, models for longitudinal data and multilevel structural equation models. Practical examples (mainly using ESS data) were provided. Lecturer: Bart Meuleman is Assistant Professor at the Centre for Sociological Research, University of Leuven (Belgium), where he teaches research methodology. In his PhD thesis, he investigated how macro-sociological factors influence individual attitudes towards immigration in Europe.
