COBISS.SI-ID: 9904209The research deals with monetary system and policy of the Bank of Slovenia (BS) before and after entering euro zone. The position of an independent central bank and pragmatic policy changed when Slovenia entered euro zone; BS became responsible for the implementation of ECB policy. The paper also tries to look for the responsibility of the BS for creation of casino capitalism before financial crisis and answer the question whether monetary authorities could prevent enormous growth of credits in the period. It seems that the preoccupation with inflationary targeting, political interference in nominating new governor after entering euro zone, and reliance on ECB monetary policy could be blamed. Namely, some tools for influencing credit activity of the banks were available. It appears that also BS succumbed to the general financial euphoria of the period.

COBISS.SI-ID: 264071424The “energy market organizer” in developed countries is more than average active (according his revenues). Especially in large countries this institution is oriented to achieve external economies. Larger “market organizer's” activity (more revenues of “market organizer”) influences the decrease of transaction costs in energy markets and improve the possibility for greater use of energy. The active “market organizer” is characteristically connected with international openness in energy market as well as with the development of gas use in given country. Better equipped (greater assets), more active (according to his revenues) and more profitable (larger EBIT) “market organizer” was in 2010 connected with higher level of electricity and natural gas prices.
