The presentation discusses two approaches in ethnology and folklore studies (1870-1940) that deal with the understanding and representation of folk and folk culture. The concept of G. Krek and K. Weinhold can be described as a reduction of Herder’s ideas and as a source of an essentialist instrumentalization. Möderndorfer's de-essentializing solution, based on Marx’s Capital, Peuckert's on Sombart’s ideas, offered offered images of the world in a power struggle between different social strata.

That is why they are appropriate for different modifications: for creating of the “new proverbs” or for the commercial purposes. Copy-writers are using small folklore forms to create more memorable commercial, using rhythm, rhyme, melody, partly words, form of the small folklore form. We are presenting the modifications of small folklore forms in Slovenian language.

Separate units were cut from video and audio documents, they were edited, transcribed phonetically and in redacted version, and equipped with all data. 13 audio units (19' 43'' all together) and 13 video units (18'30'' all together) are part of permanent exhibition in museum “Stergulčeva hiša” in Bovec.

It is introduced by a section on disciplinary horizons, and followed by two section of chapters: on Serbians living in Slovenia an Slovenians living in Serbia. The bibliography on Slovenians in Serbia is a valuable contribution for research in the future.
