From 2009 the Department of Geography, UL is cooperating with universities from UK, Germany, Ireland, Czech Republic, Sweden, Netherlands and Lithuania. The main project objective is designation of interpretative model enabling researchers and regional key actors a better understanding and reaction to processes which are brought to rural areas by the globalization. The international team of researchers is cooperating with the stakeholders and researchers on a national and regional level with the goal to upgrade the knowledge and to form recommendations for regional development strategies.

COBISS.SI-ID: 45241186The target audience for scientific conference Local food supply were teachers of geography; the high response (over 80 participants, response of public media (radio, newspaper) show the importance and actuality of the presented topic (supply with local and high quality food). Members of program were organizers of various interdisciplinary scientific conferences in past years, presented topics were later published in DELA and other national scientific publications.

COBISS.SI-ID: 43528802The leader and 16 members of the proposed project have importantly contributed to the development of the pedagogical work in the study programs of geography, which is reflected in the variety of their activities outside regular pedagogical process: especially in development and conduction of subjects in physical, environmental and social geography In the year 2010 one university textbooks was published, which will contribute to the improved quality of study at the Dep. of Geography. In last year members of program team finished 93 mentorship’s of diplomas, 5 of master thesis and 1 of PhD.
D.10 Educational activities

In the series new original scientific works are published, which present results of the research work of the members of the Department of Geography. The series greatly contributed to the improved possibilities for the presentation of research results to the wider professional audience. In 2010 we started to publish also e-version (e-GeograFF) (1 number).
C.02 Editorial board of a national monograph
COBISS.SI-ID: 23805442Membership in different editorial boards of national and international scientific publications shows a high scientific relevance of our researchers; they are editors or members of editorial boards of numerous publications (DELA, Hrvatski geografski glasnik, Moravian Geographical Report, Mitteilungen der Österreichischen Geographischen Gesellschaft), also different geographical atlases, enciclopedias and National Geographic magazine.
