We assessed toxicity of diazino, imidacloprid and acetamiprid by analyzing biomarkers at different levels of biological complexity in juvenile and adult terrestrial isopod Porcellio scaber in two weeks laboratory toxicity test. The results of this study have shown that at actual environmental concentrations of neonicotinoids and diazinon, diazinon poses higher risk to isopod P. scaber. But imidacloprid might be potentially more dangerous after longer application period, due to its increasing use in crop protection and higher persistence in soil as diazinon.

This review summarizes the most recent investigations in the field of insecticides and methods for their degradation as well as determination in waters. The application of several different AOMs in the removal of insecticides is described. The photodegradation processes were evaluated not only in terms of kinetics, but also product identification and the degree of mineralisation is compared. In addition, the work was combined with the development of analytical methods and tools for the determination of trace amounts of pesticide residues in different environmental samples.
