During the 15 hours lectures prof. Arčon, visiting professor at the Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan, lectured basics of magnetic resonance and the applications of magnetic resonance for the research of metals and magnetic systems. Theoretical discussions were supported with numerous examples.

COBISS.SI-ID: 23474215When the dimensionality of the antiferromagnet is reduced to one, quantum fluctuations start to play the crucial role. Their interplay with exchange interactions between neighboring spins leads to a state described as a Luttinger liquid (LL). In this vcontribution we reported that the remaining weak coupling between the ladders was shown by NMR to lead at very low temperatures to the 3D ordering dominated by the transverse staggered correlation function. Well inside the LL phase in the H-T phase diagram the 3D ordering can be explained within the mean-field treatment.
