1.
Spectroscopic investigation of hydroxiapatite crystals distribution in dentin of human teeth.

The arrangement of HA crystals in dentin of human middle incisors was assessed by comparison of measured and computer calculated EPR spectra. A small proportion of HA crystals is arranged (5-6%) while other crystals were randomly arranged. Arranged crystals form intratubular dentin and are oriented perpendicular to the axis of dentinal tubules.

2.
Development of simulation support to structural characterization of human dentin with EPR.

Biological apatits contain carbonates, which form after irradiation two paramagnetic center, which are parallel to the long c-axis of HA crystal. The paper presents a computer model that allows for exact comparison of calculated and measured EPR spectra in determining the orientation of HA crystals in dentin of human teeth.
